Mexico City to San Miguel de Allende
I will be back to Mexico City. Despite the intense presence of American commerce, the locals were fiercely protective and proud of their culture and home. We had to prove ourselves, and the grit made every experience that much more exquisite.
San Miguel was as if wrested from a Disney movie. Its natural wonders are varied and bountiful - we mountain biked in the desert and swam in hot springs within the same afternoon. Carts in San Miguel’s town square gave me the best elote I’ve ever had, which I ate while watching a traditional marriage parade spread its love under the shadow of a cathedral so grandiose it would make Walt himself blush.
